2010
We went back to Hawaii and had our most successful Highland games ever as we won nearly every section that we entered and had over 100 medals to take home . We were also stranded in Amsterdam for 5 days on the way back due to the volcanic ash. This will be a memory for the children in later years.
We enjoyed a fantastic trip to Taiwan, where we represented the UK at an international folklore festival, which we opened with our piper and led the parade round the Yilan County water park. We did a new dance about a Scottish wedding and the Taiwanese people loved it, We also did the dance about Flora MacDonald and Bonnie Prince Charlie as well as the traditional highland dances.
We hope to go back to Hawaii for the highland games in April 2011 and also hope to go to Florida in July 2011.
We have won a trophy at every highland games that we have entered this year and I was so happy that Eileen Battersby won the Jean Stewart memorial trophy at Balloch games, as Jean was a very good friend of mine who died in her 20’s. -

We won 3 Cowal trophies. Chloe Harkin won Beginners, Eileen Battersby was runner up and Ellie Fletcher won the Novice. Also the dancers won many trophies at the other highland games throughout the summer.
Hawaii Dance Trip.This was another fantastic success with over 100 medals, 5 trophies and 2 runners up trophies won. The girls danced at a memorial service for Princess Kapiolani. They also danced at castle high school and for The Breakfast Khon News TV show. Cultural visits included Pearl Harbour, Turtle Beach and the Pineapple Plantations. A wonderful experience for all
